My heart aches with sadness and thankfulness for my husband.
As a husband, he was loving and devoted. As a father, he was intentional and caring. As LIFE’s president and founder, he was passionate about sharing the Gospel and reaching the lost and hurting in every corner of the world with God’s love.
Life without him won’t be the same, but the mission and ministry of LIFE will no doubt continue thanks to the family and friends across the world who’ve stood with us through the years and will continue to in the days ahead.
Even now, I know James is resting in the arms of the Father, the One who loves him, and each one of us, even more than I can comprehend.
I’m so grateful for the life my dad lived. He didn’t chase accolades or achievements. His passion was the Gospel. His heart was for missions. His love was for his family.
I grieve his loss deeply. But I’m also grateful that, because of the truths he taught me over the years, I do not grieve without hope. James, my dad, is now home. And for all of us who call on the name of Jesus Christ, we will one day see my dad again. But until that day comes, the legacy of his life will continue through LIFE Outreach, through me, through you and through all those his life has touched.
He didn’t leave anything behind built on personality, only on Kingdom purpose. “More of Him and less of me” was truly his life’s mission. And as we remember all the ways James so powerfully portrayed those words, may they also guide us and the ministry of LIFE Outreach International into the future.
There is no one quite like James Robison. Despite the pain and suffering he endured throughout his life, not only did he find healing and freedom from it, but he also surrendered it so God could move through him in countless ways.
My life, and the lives of millions more, have been blessed by James. Over the past 31 years, it’s been a joy to come alongside his vision at LIFE Outreach.
We will continue to carry forward his mantle of demonstrating God’s love in word and deed to the “least of these” worldwide.
James met often with George W. Bush in the lead-up to the latter’s presidency. During one such meeting, then Governor Bush confided to James, “I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can’t explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen…I know it won’t be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it.”
