Following the Under God Indivisible conference on July 27, God placed some thoughts in my mind. I was led to write them down. To my amazement, the thoughts rhymed, and I realized I had just written my first poem. I believe the phrases are true, and they certainly express my hopes and prayers.

Paul shared in the first chapter of Romans, “God revealed Himself in all He created.” Jesus taught that important lessons can be learned from sheep, predatory wolves, and the birds of the air. He encouraged everyone to observe how the Father watches over them. It is obvious they work diligently, but do not worry.

We could answer the question asked in the title with a simple and firm response, “Because Jesus commanded us to!” Every inquisitive seeker of truth and wisdom comprehends the importance of the Proverb, “with all of our learning, we get understanding.” Why is loving our enemies so important? What positive effect or benefit comes from it?

Last week, I experienced one of the greatest gatherings of faith I have ever witnessed.

As faith leaders from around the country converge on Arlington, Texas, at today’s “Under God INDIVISIBLE” conference, I hope you’ll join us in prayer for the much needed spiritual awakening and national course correction. If you cannot attend, I encourage you to watch it on the DayStar television network this evening from 7–9pm (central). Whether Protestant or Catholic, Christian or Jew, we all agree that Godly principles must be upheld and affirmed in order for our freedom to survive.

Please be in prayer for the “Under God INDIVISIBLE” conference next Friday, July 27, at High Point Church in Arlington. We need an outpouring of the transforming power of God’s truth, Spirit and love here in America and around the world. Perhaps no other expression of Holy Spirit power is as lacking (even in the church), as the one thing God says prevails when all else fails - LOVE.

Too many Americans believe lies and it is about to cost us personal and national freedom. Only truth can make us free and keep us free. When we leave the truth and believe lies, the Bible says we forfeit a meaningful life of fullness, faithfulness and fruitfulness. Truth enables us to abide in love, peace, and joy with patience, meekness, and self-control.

The independence from excessive rule by the British monarchy we celebrated this week came at the high cost of commitment and personal sacrifice. The freedom we have been blessed to enjoy and share has never been as fully experienced by any other nation. We are about to lose our independence to dependence on an all-powerful, all-consuming nanny state. Where are the prophets and pastors who will point us to the Good Shepherd, who will lead our nation back to still waters and green pasture?

Next week we will celebrate the 226^th anniversary of our nation’s birth of freedom. This historical moment occurred as a result of wise, committed leaders and followers pledging their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to establish the greatest foundation upon which a nation and its people could build their families and future.

When asked why I express such deep concern for our country, I frequently reply, “Because I often observe Betty weeping and praying for a nation she sees drifting away from God.” I have encouraged her to journal her concerns and the impressions God places on her heart as she reads the Bible. The following is an example of what she shared in her devotional time. I think you will be inspired and impressed to join with us in prayer for a mighty move of God. –James
